We will come together to honour & celebrate one of the potent solar alignments of the Gaelic calendar, the Winter Solstice.
The intention of this gathering is to connect with the Ancestral Wisdom of Éire, as a present day and living tradition. Gathering as a tribe on the land again, we call upon the ancient wisdom & magic of this land to be remembered and reclaimed.

We will visit certain sacred sites, cairns and holy wells in the North-West. Ritual, prayer and ceremony will be an integral part of our pilgrimage and celebration. A sacred fire will be lit at sunrise on the Solstice at a special location.
We are blessed to have a professional chef Nicky Halliday catering organic food & on the evening of the Solstice we will have a big ancestral feast as part of our celebration.
We will also have some very special guest musicians & live music performances on the night of the Solstice - a potent performance by Caoívín, as well as the mystical Sionnáin.

The circular yoga room of the Brú Moytura eco lodge

Our accommodation is the magical eco lodge that is Brú Moytura (previously known as the Gyreum) which is located in the plains of Moytura, where the battle against the Tuatha Dé Danann and the Fomorians is said to have taken place. We will tap into and journey with the symbolism of this story and what keys it holds for us a people in our indigenous awakening.
